[ in fact, setting out a do not disturb sign at the door so no one bothers thancred, before getting started on mutton. do not die in the baths thancred ]
[He will not die!! He will pass out though. So it's a long bath -- concerning so maybe. Eventually he does slip down into the water, and that's plenty to wake him, sputtering and startled.
He's still groggy when he emerges, the perpetual dark circles under his eyes particularly obvious.]
[ by now he can definitely smell the stew, being kept on warm, as well as rice pilaf. lucifel's getting up from the breakfast nook to go to the fridge ]
Ah—Thancred-san. It's been . . .
[ . . .

. . .
trying to think of it for a little while before giving up, looking at his phone instead ]
...I see. I must've been more worn out than I thought.
[Well. He knew he was tired and the bath was very nice. He's rubbing his face with a pruny hand, then coming over to investigate the delicious smells. It's not exactly what he's used to but he's absolutely not complaining.]
Just as one shall wash hands at the sink when washing hands, and just as one shall eat at the table when it is time to eat, so shall one clean their weapons when and where it is appropriate to do so.
[ offering his hands out '^' for the weapons '^' ]
Where we share the same iron pot shall not be that place.
Not just peace for yourself, but peace for those around you.
[ coming back with a serving of pilaf and stew, to set it down in front of him ]
Izanagi-san, for example—he comes from a peaceful time where weapons aren't necessary for everyday life. It's quite unnerving to him, seeing weapons strewn about—and this is our home, after all. Somewhere that weapons should need be brandished.
[ gently, gently, ]
. . . It is troublesome to ask of you, I know, but could you please inconvenience yourself a bit to show that boy some kindness?
Re: Day 275, afternoon
[ while he moves to set the book down over at the kotatsu ]
Re: Day 275, afternoon
I think I will. Thank you.
[He's gonna go get clean, and relax, and probably pass out in the bath like an old man cause he is exhausted.]

...How long was I in there?

Ah—Thancred-san. It's been . . .
[ . . .

—a couple hours, I believe?

That smells incredible.
Re: Day 275, afternoon
[ pulling out a glass bottle of milk from the fridge, to offer to him ]
Here, first.
Re: Day 275, afternoon
[He takes the bottle, stares a moment, then shrugs.]
This is essential, I suppose?
Re: Day 275, afternoon
Re: Day 275, afternoon
[Shrug! But he's drinking it.]
We have a similar location in my home region, but I believe those old goats would rather drink spirits...
Re: Day 275, afternoon
Re: Day 275, afternoon
No, no. This is more than adequate, and quite refreshing.

Re: Day 275, afternoon
Then, that's good. Would you like tea or water when you eat? Or—would you like more milk?
Re: Day 275, afternoon
He's just going to hand over the bottle and go sit down to maintenance his weapons before any questions can occur.]
Water is plenty. You're already working more than hard enough.
Re: Day 275, afternoon
[ a little sternly, chastising ]
Re: Day 275, afternoon
Are we seriously concerned about table manners?

Re: Day 275, afternoon
If you insist.
Re: Day 275, afternoon
It's a matter of mindset, after all. Just what peace can be had when you eat with one hand and hold your blade with the other?
[ and he's taking the blades to go put them away, just over by the wall before he goes back into the kitchen to get him some stew ]
Re: Day 275, afternoon
[He's just a rowdy guy, ok!]

Re: Day 275, afternoon
[Harrumph! But it's got no real bite to it.]
But I understand. I'll keep them away.
Re: Day 275, afternoon
[ setting utensils down for him too ]
Thank you, Thancred-san.
