Thancred: It is not my usual style, no. But I would rather not waste points even so.

Vergil: I didn't want to waste points on clothes at first but with recent extra appendages I've been left with no choice but to buy more. And frankly choosing a different unit's has been much more comfortable, I would recommend it.

Thancred: Oh, but you forget. I'm here to accomplish something. It's only to my benefit to play along with my assigned role as boldly as possible.

Vergil: Are we being graded on how well we fit our assigned role? I must be failing terribly.

Thancred: I don't know for sure what pleases them, but I'm willing to give complying a try.

Vergil: They don't give the auditions even a hint? Too bad.

Thancred: I know enough to get by.
Thancred: Anyway, these clothes are surprisingly comfortable. I haven't been given anything as elaborate as some members of the unit.

[It's just a lot of skinny jeans and knit tops and accessories... A lot less heavy than what he wore at home, that's for sure!]

Thancred: I just try to imagine that certain people back home would enjoy the sight of me.

Vergil: True, I did find it a bit difficult to look Dante in the eye dressed as he was. You at least look ready for bed, if a bit bright.

Thancred: My secret is that I chose a sensible colour for myself.
Thancred: I can almost feasibly achieve the black and white I preferred before.

Vergil: Aside from all the remarkably bright pink. Which you do seem to lean into.

Thancred: But I could switch it out without breaking unit style.
Thancred: But frankly it flatters me.

Thancred: As everything does, of course.

Vergil: Doubtful. But what ever you like to tell yourself.

Thancred: Come now. If there is one thing I am sure of about myself, it's that I am incredibly handsome.

[And also that he likes to ham up self-compliments to cover for his insecurities but that is absolutely irrelevant here, obviously.]

Vergil: I take back what I said the other day, you would get along almost too well with my brother I think. It would be terrible and I shudder to even think of it.

Thancred: And now that I've decided I enjoy your miserable company, that statement brings me nothing but the purest of joy.

Vergil: My company while I'm miserable is what you mean, of course?

Thancred: Judging by our encounters thus far, one of us is going to be miserable no matter what. It may as well be you.

Vergil: I beg to differ, you naturally lend to misery much more than I.

Thancred: As if you know me well enough to say that.
Thancred: Even if it was true, that would only make it more important that I get the upper hand now and then.

Vergil: I don't need to know you well to know what doesn't fit for myself. I'm the smug villain role, you see.

Thancred: I guarantee you there are many people who see me in exactly that light. And there are those who see you as naught but a big growling dog. Differing viewpoints and all that.
Thancred: If I get the opportunity to be the frustrating one, i shall.

[Hey! do not call him out, please take him seriously as a reoccurring final boss.]

Vergil: It's a bit difficult to be much more than a "big growling dog" here. But if you don't believe me now, you'll see it soon enough now doubt, as I often take my memories in the open.

Thancred: I would wonder if a man taken away from his circumstances is closer or farther from his true self than the man left caught in them.

Vergil: You'll start to sound like you sympathise with me and my circumstances if you put things that way. Don't.

Thancred: As you wish. I shall go back to teasing you about your brother issues instead.
